MintedSaaS

Founders + visitors

How it works

A short tour of how listings get on MintedSaaS, how we keep them honest, and how visitors find them.

1. You submit a product, free

Click Submit your product on the homepage. You provide the URL, choose a category, and either type the listing fields manually or click "Fill with AI" once to draft them from your homepage. Listings always need a name, a 30–100 character tagline, and a 150–5000 character description.

2. Place our backlink on your homepage

The free tier asks for one thing in exchange for the listing: a small badge linking back to your MintedSaaS listing page. We give you the HTML snippet in your dashboard's share kit. The backlink keeps the directory's SEO equity worth something — that's what makes our dofollow link useful to you.

3. We review your submission

Every new submission goes through manual editorial review before it shows up publicly. We check that the site is real, the description is accurate, and the listing fits its category. No SLA at this stage — typically same-week, sometimes faster.

4. You get a dofollow link and a share kit

Once approved, your listing is published with a dofollow outbound link, an auto-generated OG image, and a share kit (tweet template, LinkedIn draft, badge HTML, "email your existing waitlist" template). You can set custom UTM parameters on your outbound link from the dashboard.

5. We monitor your listing daily — the living-listings contract

Once a day our bot fetches your declared homepage to check two things:

  • Is the backlink still there? If it goes missing on day 1, we email you a notice and flip your outbound link to nofollow immediately. After three consecutive missing days, the listing is hidden. Put the backlink back and the next check restores everything — no time limit.
  • Is the site reachable? Days 1–6 we're quiet, day 7 we email a warning, day 14 we hide the listing, day 60 we mark it abandoned. When the site comes back up, the listing restores.

See /about/our-bot for the User-Agent and whitelisting details.

6. Status badges are honest

Every listing carries a status pill: live (active and verified), quiet (no updates in a while, still up), unreachable, delisted-no-backlink, or abandoned. We don't pretend the directory is healthier than it is — that's the point.

7. Visitors find listings three ways

  • Search engines: programmatic SEO pages (best-of, alternatives, comparisons, audience cuts) populated from the catalogue.
  • Direct browsing: the category index, the launches feed, full-text search, and the per-category RSS feeds.
  • AI / LLM agents: our public MCP server, JSON-LD on every listing, a /llms.txt index, and a per-listing Markdown endpoint at /<slug>.md. See For AI agents.

8. Comments + community

Visitors can leave plain-text comments on any listing. Comments publish immediately and pass a banned-words filter + per-user rate limit. We don't allow HTML or markdown — that keeps the surface small and the conversation focused.

During submission you can optionally name the communities your product is discussed in (subreddits, Slack groups, etc.). We aggregate those into a private map you can use from your dashboard.

9. What this costs

Listing is free. Maintain the backlink and your listing stays dofollow + live. At a later stage we'll add optional paid placements (skip-the-queue, featured slot, newsletter mention, sponsor slot). The free tier is not going away.
